Primaloft is a thermally efficient, breathable, fast drying insulator that continues to retain heat even when wet. As the Dupont Coolmax Pique draws sweat and moisture from the horse's leg and transfers that moisture to the Primaloft layer, the heat needed to continue the sweating process remains consistent. Primaloft is also hypoallergenic.

With traditional sweating techniques, eventually the cotton batting or poly-fil gets wet. Without any thermal properties contained in the materials used, cold moisture or even frozen sweat can cling to the horse's leg; thus reducing the effects of the sweating process.
